Missouri Portal Rotating Banners Guidelines

The Missouri portal uses rotating banners to feature agency Web information/sites. The rotation features keep the portal’s information fresh for our visitors. Besides the rotating banners, there is a group of featured Missouri photographs and a series of agency news releases that refresh the information upon each visit.

There are three methods for featuring agency Web information/sites currently on the Missouri portal. The methods include 1) featured sites – text and hyperlink only for 30-day periods; 2) rotating banners – image, text and hyperlink for 60-day periods; and 3) perpetual or long-term banners – images with hyperlinks.

Does your agency have plans for any new or even revisited banners that can be implemented soon?

Visit http://www.mo.gov/mo/proposedbanners.htm and review the banners that have been used in the past. The standard banner size is 120 pixels x 90 pixels. The perpetual or long-term banners are 120 pixels x 60 pixels currently. These special banners are posted in limited quantity.

For rotating banners, we need the following from your agency (in advance of posting date):

  1. .gif or .jpg image for banner – 120px width x 90px height and with a 1px black rule border;
  2. title of banner, used as a hyperlink under the banner;
  3. alternate text for banner;
  4. hyperlink for the featured site;
  5. date of posting; and
  6. date of expiration (60-day period).

Please let us know how we can be of service in broadcasting your information as a featured site on the Missouri portal. Please send your requests/information directly to OAHelpDesk@oa.mo.gov.
